Closed Cooling Tower


A closed-circuit cooling tower is a device that cools water by utilizing the evaporation of water sprayed outside the coils to absorb heat from the high-temperature cooling water inside the coils. Its main principle is that the spray water evaporates on the outer wall of the coil to cool the cooling water flowing inside the coil, while the fan removes the generated water vapor in a timely manner. A small portion of the spray water evaporates, and the rest is collected by the bottom sump for recirculation. The higher-temperature cooling water from the cooling system is pressurized by a circulating water pump and sent to the cooling coils of the closed-circuit cooling tower. On the other hand, a spray pump draws water from the cooling tower base pan into the spray pipes, then sprays it onto the outer surface of the cooling coils, where it vaporizes and absorbs heat from the cooling water in the coils, thereby lowering the temperature of the cooling water. The powerful wind from the induced draft fan ensures the spray water completely covers the coil surface while creating negative pressure inside the tower, lowering the water's evaporation temperature, promoting film evaporation, and significantly improving heat exchange efficiency. The heated spray water partially turns into a gaseous state, using water's latent heat of vaporization to carry away a large amount of heat with the wind. The water droplets in the hot air are intercepted by a high-efficiency water separator, and finally, the water that has absorbed heat falls into the filling material below, is cooled by the flowing air, then the temperature decreases, flows into the sump, and is then recirculated by the spray water pump.
